Chocolate mug cake / microwave cake

Moist and delicious chocolate mug cake done in microwave. A quick fix for chocolate cravings in less than 5 minutes.


  • 1/4 Cup All purpose flour
  • 3 Tablespoons granulated white sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 Teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Instant Coffee powder
  • a pinch of salt
  • 3 Tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 Tablespoons milk
  • 2 Tablespoons plain natural yogurt / curd


1. In a small bowl, add all purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, cocoa powder,  salt and instant coffee powder and mix
2. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in milk, oil and yogurt
3. Whisk wet ingredients to mix everything without lumps
4. In a wet microwave safe coffee mug, pour the prepared batter and microwave on high for 3 minutes
5. Let the cake cool for 5 minutes
6. Serve immediately with warm chocolate syrup
