One bowl Cocoa Brownies

One bowl fudge brownies are so easy to make and these are better than the boxed brownie mix. One bowl and flat 10 minutes of preparation is all it takes. Yum ! These are totally divine !

Yield : 9 brownie squares

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup salted melted butter ( I used milky mist cooking butter)
  • 1 Cup Granulated white Sugar
  • 3/4 Cup unsweetened cocoa powder ( I used Cadbury cocoa powder)
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 1/3 Cup All purpose flour / Maida
  • 1/3 Cup chopped walnuts - tossed in 1 teaspoon all purpose flour (optional)

Directions

1. In a microwave safe coffee mug, add butter and microwave on high for 30 seconds until its is melted.
2. In a food processor, add granulated white sugar and process it until it is fine powder
3. Grease 8x8 baking tray / dish and set aside. Line the pan with a parchment paper. Since I didn't have parchment paper, I poured the batter directly into the pan and it was difficult to take them out from the pan without damaging the top of the brownies :)
4. Preheat the oven to 170 C
5. In a large mixing bowl, add melted butter and granulated white sugar ( from step number 2)
6. Using a spatula give it a stir
7. Then add cocoa powder, salt and vanilla extract. Gently stir to combine cocoa powder into butter sugar mixture. Add the eggs and stir until well combined
8. Sprinkle flour in three additions , stirring after each addition. Stir just until combined
9. Fold in walnuts if you are using
10. Pour the brownie batter in the baking tray and bake at 170 C for 35 minutes. Original recipe says bake for 28 minutes. Mine was done in 35 minutes. Baking time vary , hence keep an eye on your brownie after 25 minutes of baking. You might burn the brownie top
11. Cool the brownie completely and then cut into squares
