Veggies in Chilli Garlic Sauce

Vegetables cooked in chilli garlic sauce is perfect with fried rice , noodles. Easy to make and can be made in a jiffy at home. Perfect for a busy week nigh dinner.
 
I added broccoli, zucchini , carrots and bell peppers. You can add any vegetable of your choice.
 

 

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Broccoli florets
  • 2 Carrots sliced thick
  • 1 Zucchini sliced thick
  • 1/2 Cup Green bell peppers
  • 2 Tablespoon Sesame seed oil / vegetable oil
  • 1 Tablespoon finely chopped garlic
  • 1 Tablespoon finely chopped ginger
  • 1 Large onion roughly chopped into big chunks
  • 2 Tablespoon dark Soya sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon Chilli sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon Tomato Ketchup
  • 1 Tablespoon Vinegar
  • 2 Tablespoon corn flour + 1 cup of water
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Directions


1. In a pan, heat oil. Keep the flame high through the process. When the oil is hot, add ginger and garlic and sauté for few seconds
2. Add onions and sauté for few seconds. Do not wait for the onions to become translucent
3. Add carrots, broccoli florets and fry for few seconds
4. Add zucchini and green bell peppers and sauté for few seconds
5. Add soya sauce, chilli sauce, vinegar, tomato ketchup and give it a stir
6. Saute the vegetables in sauce for 2 minutes
7. Meanwhile, mix 2 tablespoons of corn flour in 1 cup of water
8. Add this corn flour mix to the vegetables. Season with salt and cook the vegetables in the gravy for 5 minutes. The vegetables need to remain crunchy, so do not cook throw till they are soft
9. Switch off the flame when the gravy has reached the preferred consistency
10. Garnish with chopped spring onion greens. Sprinkle with freshly ground black pepper and serve it hot with fried rice or noodles
