Indian Chai flavoured with cinnamon ! Perfectly warm and soothing on a busy afternoon. This chai tastes like the 'skinny' version of chai latte, or even better than what you'd get from the coffeehouse.
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Full Cream Milk ( if you are using skim milk or low fat milk, skip adding water since skim milk will be very thin and is perfect for this chai)
- 1/4 Cup regular tap water
- 1 Tablespoon Tea leaves / 2 Tea Bags
- 1 Tablespoon Sugar ( adjust according to your taste)
- 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon Powder
Directions
1. In a pot over low flame, add 1 cup thick full cream milk and water2. Add tea leaves and bring it to boil
3. Add sugar and give it a stir and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes or until the chai color changes from white to pale brownish
4. Finally add cinnamon powder and stir in
5. Check for sweetness and add more sugar if required
6. Strain through the strainer and serve hot chai
